Oklahoma State School Board Association Annual Conference

Oklahoma State School Board Association Annual Conference

Keynote Speakers:

Joy Hofmeister, State Superintendent of Public Instruction
General Session I • Friday Morning

State schools Superintendent Joy Hofmeister will help kick off this year’s conference. Hofmeister has overseen a variety of changes in education since taking office in 2015. Schools have new English and math academic standards and new tests, and the state is nearing completion of its Every Student Succeeds Act plan. Under her leadership, the state Education Department has worked to reduce red tape for schools.

Will Richardson, Educational Thinker, Writer and Change Advocate
General Session III • Saturday

A former teacher and technology administrator, Will Richardson dives into the changing landscape of education and how technology has changed what we think of as school at a time when adults and many students walk around with computers in their pockets. Technology, he says, helps makes this an exciting time to be a learner but the most challenging time ever to be in education.
