BOX OFFICE LOTTERY - back to top
In an effort to be fair to all who wish to purchase tickets, the Box Office uses a lottery system as required for major on-sales. The policies and procedures for the lottery system are detailed below.
Purpose of Lottery:
- Helps to prevent scalping.
- Helps to maintain the order of the line.
- Ensures everyone a fair chance to be first in line.
- Prevents lines from interfering with other events at the Ford Center.
Standard Lottery Policy:
- Only one raffle ticket will be issued per person.
- If a person gets two raffle tickets, they are disqualified from the on-sale.
- You must be at least 12 years old to participate.
- Persons who arrive after the lottery must go to the end of the line.
- 7:00 AM* Line forms.
Camping out: - back to top
Camping out is not necessary and not permitted.
No lines before 7:00 AM please.
- 9:00 AM* Raffle tickets issued.
- 9:30 AM* Lottery Drawing.
- 10:00 AM* On-Sale begins.
Lottery Procedure:
Every person who arrives before 9:30 AM* will be issued a raffle ticket. However, a raffle ticket only guarantees a place in line - not a ticket. At 9:30 AM* the tickets are shuffled and one ticket is drawn. The person, who has the matching ticket number, becomes the first person in line. Everyone else stays in numerical order, and those with lower ticket numbers go to the end of the line.
Lottery Example:
400 people are issued raffle tickets for an on-sale. The lottery draws number 211 to be first in line. Everyone stays in numerical order. 212 simply becomes second in line, 213 third, and so on. Then, those with ticket numbers 1 - 210 would line up behind number 400.
*Please note: All times are based on a standard 10:00 AM on-sale. The times and the location of where the line should form may vary due to the number of participants anticipated, weather conditions, or other event requirements. Signs will be clearly posted prior to the on-sale.
